How do I link my domain name to my ArtStation website?

how to connect a custom domain name to an ArtStation Premium website, including required DNS records, common redirection issues, and specific registrar setup steps for GoDaddy and Namecheap

Written by Elaine

As an ArtStation Premium member, you can use your own domain name for your website, making it fully yours with no ArtStation branding on it.

Instructions

  1. Add the domain name to your ArtStation Domain admin under "Use a domain I own" and then click "Continue"

  2. On your domain name DNS, please add the following records:

Record Type

Subdomain

Target

CNAME

www

@

A

@

3.94.141.51

A

@

34.193.143.10

Ensure there are no other 'A' or "AAAA" records on the same root domain with another IP address (remove them). That's it.

Please note: It may take up to 48 hours for the DNS to propagate. Check the domain later.

Most common problems

Here are some very common issues we've helped people with:

Redirect is enabled

Some registrars like GoDaddy and Namecheap offer a redirect. i.e. you can redirect your website mydomain.com to username.artstation.com. You can see how this works. Just type mydomain.com into your browser, and it will actually change the URL to username.artstation.com.

If you are going to use a custom domain name on ArtStation, you need to remove this redirection. Then your domain mydomain.com will always stay as mydomain.com when browsing your website.

GoDaddy instructions

This section assumes that you have bought a domain name from GoDaddy and wish to configure it for ArtStation.

  1. Remove Existing URL Redirects

    • Log in to GoDaddy and go to your Domain Control Center.

    • Locate the Forwarding / Redirection section for your domain.

    • If you have an active redirect pointing mydomain.com to username.artstation.com, delete or disable it so your custom domain remains in the address bar.
